I was born in 1951 at Catterick, Yorkshire and began travelling the world at 6 months eventually stopping in 1964 when my family settled in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

I now live in Scholes, high in the hills near Holmfirth, a wonderful, typical Yorkshire town nestled in a pleasant valley in the Pennine hills. Landscape in abundance, stone walls aplenty, weather every day. A very bohemian oasis amid the once black stone of this mill valley.
The people are a fascinating mix. Artists abound, I think it is the encouragement that the very landscape oozes that attracts them. I am certainly inspired by the countryside that surrounds me; the colour of it, the shape of it and the very presence of it.
The addition of a camera to my artist's 'toolbox' has opened up a new, creative avenue, enabling me to see and capture images in a more immediate way. It will never replace drawing or painting but allows me to capture and present moments that appeal to me.

I have now moved from The Gallery in Slaithwaite to a studio nearer my home. Visitors are welcome whenever I am there. Please ring just to make sure I am in and get directions...  07956362951.

The Slaithwaite Gallery is well worth a visit with a wide variety of artists and craftpeoples works on show.
